What are mica protective screens?

Mica discs made of muscovite and phlogopite are used as protection for sight glass plates, particularly those made of borosilicate glass, when they are exposed to strong chemical and thermal stresses. Both increase the lifespan of sight glasses and are particularly suitable for use under extreme conditions, as they are resistant to radiation, organic solvents, and many acids.

Mica quality grades, sizes, and further information can be found in our information data sheet.

Original ACI-Mica discs can be used when the sight glass plates, for example made of Borosilicate glass, are exposed to strong chemical loads.

Our mica discs are made of Muscovit natural mica (clear quality) and have practically no impact on the view of transparent sight glasses. Furthermore, mica discs increase the temperature resistance and service life of, for example, borosilicate sight glasses.

Through production and quality checks during the process flow, the property values of the mica discs and the tight dimensional tolerances are guaranteed. With these excellent properties, mica discs can be used as additional safety designs for sight glass plates under extreme conditions.
