The Type 322 high-pressure vessel sight glass is designed for applications in which processes in vessels and apparatus must be safely monitored visually under high operating pressures.
The round sight glass fitting is used for flange mounting directly on an existing mating flange in the system and is based in design on DIN 28121.
Due to the reinforced flange design and the use of suitably engineered glass plates, operating pressures of up to max. 160 barg can be achieved with Type 322. Depending on the version, the glass plates are outside the standard dimensions of DIN 7080.
The Type 322 vessel sight glass is designed for pressure requirements of up to max. 160 barg. Key factors are the reinforced flange design and the use of appropriately dimensioned borosilicate glass plates, which depending on the version lie outside the standard dimensions of DIN 7080.
For applications with increased thermal stress, the sight glass can be supplemented with a suitably matched mica protection screen. It protects the borosilicate glass at high temperatures or under steam exposure.
LED lights for hazardous and non-hazardous areas are also available for Type 322. Custom designs can be reviewed and implemented on an application-specific basis.
Typical applications for the Type 322 high-pressure vessel sight glass include pressure vessels, technical apparatus and industrial systems with increased pressure requirements.
These include in particular high-pressure applications in the chemical industry, apparatus engineering, research facilities, plant engineering and process technology involving liquid or gaseous media, where a robust flange-mounted fitting for visual process monitoring is required.

The Type 322 vessel sight glass is designed for high-pressure applications in vessels, apparatus and industrial systems where processes under high operating pressures of up to max. 160 barg must be safely monitored visually. Typical fields of application include pressure vessels, process engineering plants, apparatus construction, as well as applications in the chemical industry involving liquid or gaseous media. Thanks to its reinforced design, this sight glass fitting is particularly suitable for applications where standard solutions are no longer sufficient.
Type 322 is designed for the pressure ratings PN 40, PN 63, PN 100 and PN 160. Depending on the version, operating pressures of up to max. 160 barg are possible. This makes the fitting suitable for high-pressure applications where standard vessel sight glasses for lower pressure ratings are not sufficient.
The high pressure resistance of Type 322 is achieved through its reinforced flange design and the use of suitably engineered glass plates. Depending on the version, glass plates outside the standard dimensions of DIN 7080 are used. This allows the sight glass fitting to be designed for high pressure ratings up to PN 160.
Depending on the version, Type 322 is suitable for temperatures of up to 280 °C. The actual temperature resistance depends on the operating pressure, medium, gasket and glass design. For applications with increased thermal stress, a suitably selected mica protection screen can provide additional protection against temperature and steam.
Available options for Type 322 include LED lights for hazardous and non-hazardous areas, mica protection screens, impact protection screens and custom designs. These additional protective options are intended to adapt the high-pressure vessel sight glass to increased thermal or plant-specific requirements. The specific design is reviewed depending on the medium, temperature, pressure rating and installation situation. Please feel free to contact us at any time.
