Technical Specialist – Inside Sales & Production (m/f/d)
Do you have a technical or hands-on background and want to work primarily in inside sales while maintaining a practical connection to production?
In this varied role, you will handle technical customer enquiries, advise customers, prepare quotations and manage orders from the initial enquiry through to delivery. You will also actively support our production team in manufacturing and assembling our sight glass fittings.
The role combines inside sales and order processing with hands-on work in production.
We are looking for a technically skilled individual who enjoys communicating with customers, works in a structured manner in an office environment and is also willing to lend a hand in production when required.
Since 2008, ACI Industriearmaturen GmbH has specialized in the development and manufacture of high-quality sight glass fittings for process monitoring in industry and plant engineering. We supply customers in the chemical, pharmaceutical, energy, and plant engineering sectors worldwide and develop practical solutions for demanding technical applications.
This role combines technical sales, project consulting, and order processing. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, the design department, and internal specialist teams. At the same time, you will remain closely involved with the product and provide hands-on support as needed—for example, during technical coordination in the workshop, internal processes, or in production.

Your Responsibilities
- Providing technical and commercial advice to new and existing customers
- Receiving, clarifying, and evaluating technical customer inquiries
- Developing technical solutions in coordination with customers, suppliers, and internal departments
- Preparing and following up on quotes for products and projects that require detailed explanation
- Technical design and project support in close collaboration with our engineering department
- Obtaining and evaluating supplier quotes
- Procuring components relevant to orders
- Independent order processing, including deadline tracking
- Maintaining customer, product, and project data in the ERP system
- Handling customer complaints with technical expertise and solution-oriented communication
- Contributing to the further development and expansion of our in-house products
- Supporting related operational departments when hands-on assistance is needed
- Active involvement in the production and assembly of our sight glass fittings
- Support during peak workloads, holiday cover and operational bottlenecks
Your Profile
- Completed technical training, continuing education, or a degree, for example as an industrial mechanic, mechatronics technician, mechanical engineering technician, master craftsman, mechanical engineer, or equivalent#
- Alternatively: a technically skilled career changer with solid practical experience
- Interest in technical sales and advising on products that require detailed explanation
- Solid understanding of technical concepts, components, assemblies, and mechanical solutions
- Experience reading technical manufacturing and assembly drawings
- Ideally, some experience in sales, order processing, project management, or customer consulting
- Proficiency with MS Office; ERP knowledge is a plus
- Good English skills are desirable
- Forklift operator’s license is a plus, but not required
- Willingness to pitch in with hands-on work when needed—for example, in the workshop, during installations, or for internal technical tasks
- Independent, structured, and meticulous work style
- Strong communication skills when interacting with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
- Ability to work well in a team, a sense of responsibility, and a solution-oriented approach to work
