Customized high-pressure sight glass fittings Type 322 for the Technical University
The ACI Industriearmaturen GmbH was once again able to demonstrate its expertise in developing specialized solutions: For a demanding experimental setup at a Technical University, we manufactured three high-pressure sight glass fittings of the Type 322 that are tailored to the specific requirements of the project.
Requirements for the sight glass fittings
The experimental setup required a robust solution that withstands extreme pressure and temperature conditions while enabling precise optical measurements. In particular, the combination of high temperatures of up to +350 °C and a working pressure of 160 bar posed a challenge.
Two sight glass fittings with double glazing and heating cartridges
- Type and dimension: Type 322, DN 40, PN 160
- Glazing: Double glazing made of special quartz glass that has been optimized for optical measurements.
- Heating: Each fitting is equipped with three heating cartridges to ensure constant temperature control.
- Cleaning connection in the gap: A cleaning connection has been integrated to effectively remove residues and condensation.
- Additional connections: The connecting flange has been equipped with three additional connections: two cleaning connections and one return connection in 1/8". These allow for flexible integration into the testing environment and optimal process control.
A sight glass fitting with single glazing
- Type and dimension: Type 322, DN 40, PN 160
- Glazing: Single glazing made from the same high-temperature resistant Quartz glass as the other fittings.
- Connections in the flange: Here too, three connections for the testing environment, two flushing connections, and one return connection in 1/8" have been integrated.
- Omission of heating cartridges: This fitting was specifically developed for a different experimental section where no heating is required.
Features of the Construction
The used Quartz glass is specifically optimized for high-temperature applications and provides excellent optical properties for precise measurements. The integration of heating cartridges and flushing connections enhances functionality and ensures that the fittings operate reliably even under the most demanding conditions.
The combination of double glazing for maximum safety, the heating option for temperature control, and the flexible connection options makes these sight glass fittings a unique solution tailored to the customer's needs.
