with flange connections according to DIN EN 1092-1
Tubular sight glass for operating pressures up to max. 16 barg
Non binding • Usually a response within 24 hours
The pipe sight glass Type 620 is a flow sight glass for 360° visual inspection of liquid and gaseous media in piping systems. Thanks to the transparent borosilicate glass cylinder, the fitting provides a complete all-round view of the process medium and supports reliable observation of flow, colour, turbidity and process condition.
The pipe sight glass is designed with flange connections according to DIN EN 1092-1 and can be integrated into existing piping systems in accordance with the relevant standards. Depending on the nominal size, Type 620 is designed for operating pressures up to max. 16 barg.
The pipe sight glass Type 620 is manufactured in the standard version with flanges made of stainless steel 1.4571.
For less demanding applications, the pipe sight glass can optionally be supplied with flanges made of P265GH.
For special media, temperature or process requirements, special materials such as Hastelloy®, duplex steels or other high-performance alloys are also available on request.
The transparent glass cylinder is made of borosilicate glass 3.3 according to DIN ISO 3585. This enables Type 620 to provide a complete 360° view of the medium.
For sealing, numerous flat gasket materials are available. These include PTFE, NBR, novaphit® MST-XP, KlingerSil® C4400 and other gasket materials for different media, temperature and pressure requirements.
Optional impact protection jackets are available for installation situations with increased mechanical risk. An impact protection jacket made of PETg or perforated sheet metal protects the borosilicate glass cylinder against external impact, for example when installed below walkways or in exposed plant areas.
The pipe sight glass Type 620 is typically used in piping systems, process engineering plants and industrial processes with liquid or gaseous media.
Thanks to its complete all-round visibility, the fitting is particularly suitable for applications where the flow, colour, turbidity or condition of a medium needs to be visually inspected directly in the pipeline.
Typical applications include the chemical industry, food industry, pharmaceutical industry, energy industry, water and wastewater technology as well as general plant and process engineering.
Thanks to the precise coordination of flange, gasket and glass, the fitting can be designed to be virtually dead-space-free and is therefore also suitable for hygienically demanding processes.

The tubular sight glass type 620 is designed for visual flow monitoring in pipeline systems. It is suitable for liquid and gaseous media and, thanks to the transparent borosilicate glass cylinder, allows a full 360°-view of the process medium.
The type 620 covers the pressure ratings PN 10 and PN 16. Depending on the nominal size, operating pressures of up to max. 16 barg are possible. For larger nominal sizes, the permissible operating pressure is reduced (see data sheet).
The Tubular sight glass type 620 is available in nominal sizes DN 15 to DN 300. DN 250 and DN 300 are special designs on request.
The borosilicate glass cylinder provides a complete all-around view of the medium. This allows flow, color, cloudiness, foam formation or process condition to be reliably assessed directly in the pipeline. In addition, borosilicate glass 3.3 is extremely resistant to aggressive media. Only in applications with high pH values is increased wear to be expected.
The standard version of the tubular sight glass is manufactured with flanges made of stainless steel 1.4571. Optionally, flanges made of P265GH as well as special materials such as Hastelloy®, duplex steels or other high-performance alloys are available on request.
For type 620, among other options, special overall lengths, impact protection jackets made of PETg or perforated sheet, special materials and application-specific custom constructions are possible. These options are intended to adapt the tubular sight glass to specific installation situations, mechanical loads or process requirements. Individual custom constructions can be evaluated on request.
