Level indicator for working pressures up to 3 barg
Non binding • Usually a response within 24 hours
The longitudinal sight glass fitting Type 335 is a lightweight version for welding into or onto vessel walls. It is designed for low operating pressures up to max. 3 barg and enables large-area visual inspection of processes and fill levels.
Due to its elongated design, Type 335 provides a larger viewing area than round vessel sight glasses. This makes the fitting particularly suitable for applications where fill levels, media movement or process conditions need to be made visible directly on the vessel.
The longitudinal sight glass fitting Type 335 is manufactured as standard from stainless steel 1.4571.
Transparent borosilicate glasses similar to DIN 7081 are used as standard. Alternative glass versions or special designs can be engineered according to the application. The glass plate is enclosed between gaskets and firmly bolted with the base and cover frame. This creates a robust fitting for visual inspection of processes and fill levels at low operating pressures.
For sealing, numerous flat gasket materials are available. These include PTFE, NBR, novaphit® MST-XP, KlingerSil® C4400 and other branded gaskets for different media, temperature and process requirements.
Additional protection and resistance options can be adapted to the respective process conditions. FEP or Halar® coatings protect the borosilicate glass on the media side against aggressive chemicals and alkalis.
When designing Type 335, increased temperatures, reduced dead spaces and special installation situations can be considered according to the application. Special designs are available on request.
Typical applications for the longitudinal sight glass fitting Type 335 include tanks, boilers, silos and vessels with low operating pressures. The fitting is particularly suitable for applications where a large-area view directly on the vessel is required. The sight glass therefore combines the functions of process observation and visual level control.

The Type 335 longitudinal sight glass fitting is designed for applications on tanks, boilers, silos and vessels with low operating pressures. It is suitable for applications where processes and/or fill levels need to be monitored over a large viewing area and where the sight glass fitting is welded into or onto the vessel wall.
Type 335 is designed for pressure rating PN 3. Depending on the version, operating pressures of up to max. 3 barg are possible. This makes the fitting suitable for applications with low operating pressures where large-area visual monitoring is required.
Type 335 can either be welded into the vessel wall or welded onto the vessel wall. This allows the fitting to be positioned directly on the vessel and used as a viewing window for process and/or fill level monitoring.
The large viewing area of Type 335 allows clear process observation and fill level monitoring directly on the vessel. This makes the longitudinal sight glass fitting particularly suitable for applications where the medium, fill level or movement inside the vessel needs to remain clearly visible over a wide area.
Various design and protection options are available for Type 335. FEP or Halar® coatings provide media-side protection for the borosilicate glass when used with aggressive chemicals or caustic solutions. Nearly dead-space-free designs can reduce deposits and make cleaning easier. Custom designs, such as adapted rear-side radii, are possible when special installation situations or non-standard process requirements need to be taken into account.
